Penn State lost to Michigan 41-17 on Saturday afternoon; Quarterback Sean Clifford did not have his best outing. The Penn State QB was 7-of-19 for 120 yards and no touchdowns.

Clifford did have a few nice runs as he carried the rock 6 times for 74 yards in the loss.

Here’s what Taylor Donohue of Lions247 had to say about Clifford’s performance:

This was Penn State’s first loss of the season, and the games do not get any easier from here as they face Minnesota and Ohio State in consecutive weeks.

Both of the games are at home. Clifford will have to play much better in both of those games if the Nittany Lions want to stay in the B1G East race.

If Clifford starts poorly against Minnesota the fans will be clamoring for back up QB Drew Allar to replace him.

The Nittany Lions square off with the Golden Gophers Saturday night in Happy Valley at 7:30 ET on ABC.
