Penn State finally got win No. 1 last week, and it appears that the Nittany Lions are ready to build on that against Rutgers.

Late in the first quarter, Penn State quarterback Sean Clifford stepped up and threw a dart. That went to Parker Washington, who took that pass in for a touchdown to put the Nittany Lions ahead.

Clifford seems to be finding some of his 2019 magic after really struggling this year and even being benched against Nebraska. Against Michigan, he did not throw a touchdown pass but went 17-for-28 for 163 yards. His last touchdown pass came against Iowa two weeks ago.

As for Washington, the freshman from Sugar Land, Texas, has continued to impress in his first season of college football. He caught nine passes for 93 yards a week ago but did not score a touchdown. He got his touchdown early in this one. It’s his first score since Week 3 against Maryland.
