Chris Godwin is likely to see a lot of suitors and offers in free agency, but it sounds like Tampa Bay head coach Bruce Arians would like to have Godwin back with the Buccaneers.

Things are currently happy in Tampa with the arrival of Tom Brady and another Super Bowl win for the Hall of Fame QB and the Buccaneers. However, the team will face a money crunch if they are hoping to retain a number of key free-agent pieces from this year’s championship squad.

Godwin is among those pieces after catching 65 passes for 840 yards and seven touchdowns. Those numbers were below his 2019 numbers, but it should be pointed out that Tampa had more weapons to use in 2020 than in years past.

On Friday, Arians discussed Godwin’s upcoming free agency and desire to keep him in Tampa. While he acknowledged the money aspect of the situation, Arians admitted it would not be too bad for Tampa to pay for two No. 1 receivers.

Joey Knight with the Tampa Bay Times shared Arians’ comments:

After four seasons in the NFL, hopefully Godwin gets the big payday he deserves. It will be interesting to see where he lands as he gets set for free agency.
