Penn State just grabbed a commitment from a very versatile prospect ahead of Saturday’s game against Indiana.

The player is Omari Evans, a do-it-all player on both sides of the ball out of Killeen, Texas. Evans has played on both sides of the ball in high school and has logged touchdowns as a return man and as a QB while also recording an interception with the defense.

In his commitment announcement, Evans indicated he’s joining the Nittany Lions to play wide receiver:

“After much prayer and thought, I feel the best college to help me with growth and development, to prepare me for the next level, and really feels like a perfect fit for me to play receiver is Penn State University,” writes Evans. “From the coaching staff to the fans and to play in front of 100K plus!”

The industry-generated composite rankings rate Evans as a 3-star prospect. He is listed at 6-feet and 170 lbs., and it will be interesting to see how he is deployed on Penn State’s offense.
