Theo Johnson is officially headed to the Senior Bowl.

The Penn State tight end will be present at arguably the top showcase of the pre-draft process for the NFL Draft. He officially accepted his invite to the Senior Bowl on Saturday evening.

Here’s the announcement:

Johnson announced just over a week ago that he planned to turn pro and forego the remainder of his eligibility at Penn State. He does plan on suiting up for the Nittany Lions one more time in the Peach Bowl, however.

Johnson caught 32 passes for 325 yards and 6 touchdowns during the 2023 campaign. He’s already accomplished new career-highs in receptions and touchdowns and is just 4 yards shy of setting a new personal yardage record for a single season.

At 6-foot-6, 260 pounds, Johnson has the requisite size and athleticism to play tight end in the NFL. He will get a chance to show off his skillset at the Senior Bowl on Feb. 3, 2024.

Penn State has had a tight end drafted in two of the last three NFL Drafts. Johnson is looking to join Brenton Strange and Pat Freiermuth as tight ends who have heard their names called on draft day in recent years.
