Indiana head coach Tom Allen did not hold back from praising Miles Sanders at his Monday press conference.

The junior running back for the Nittany Lions is undoubtedly talented. Sanders ran for 162 yards and 2 long TDs in the loss to Michigan State, and that performance is just the tip of the iceberg. He already has three 100-yard performances on the season, including a 200-yard outing against Illinois.

QB Trace McSorley remains the leader of the offense. However, Sanders is a vital weapon that teams must account for. Indiana is the next team that will try and hold him in check, and Allen was very complimentary of Sanders’ talent.

Sanders is so good that Allen joked it looks like Penn State simply brought back Saquon Barkley for another year:

Of course, that is not the case as Barkley continues to make big plays as a rookie in the NFL. Still, that’s quite the praise for Sanders, especially considering Barkley’s legendary career at Penn State. Barkley finished second on the all-time rushing list for the Nittany Lions with 3,843 rushing yards.

Sanders has a long way to go to catch Barkley, but he does have 700 yards and 7 TDs through the first six games this season.
