Several college superstars sit out of bowl games these days, avoiding injury and hurting their NFL Draft status. But that’s not the way Penn State quarterback Trace McSorley wants to go out.

Battered and bruised near the end of the regular season, McSorley wanted to play in Penn State’s Citrus Bowl game against Kentucky on New Year’s Day. A team leader for the last three seasons, the Nittany Lions expected nothing else from their senior quarterback.

And even through injury, McSorley wanted to stay on the field. The quarterback even played through a broken foot.

That’s right, while some of the game’s top players have decided to sit out this postseason, McSorley was running around the field and launching passes with a broken foot, according to Penn State.

It was reported that McSorley’s foot was broken in the second half of the Citrus Bowl. Miraculously, the quarterback still decided to play in the game.

That’s one tough guy.

McSorley has been one of the fan favorites over the last three seasons, and it’s easy to see why. Anyone willing to play in a bowl game on a broken foot is pretty special.
