Trace McSorley has record-setting performance vs. Ohio State
Trace McSorley continues to rewrite Penn State’s record book.
Penn State came up one point short in Saturday night’s clash with Ohio State, falling 27-26. But the loss doesn’t diminish the accomplishment of the Nittany Lions’ quarterback, who had a record-setting outing against the Buckeyes.
McSorley accounted for 461 yards of total offense against Ohio State, setting a program record. He threw for 286 yards and rushed for an additional 175 in the game. He also accounted for two touchdowns, both of which came through the air.

McSorley’s 175 rushing yards were a new career high for the dual-threat quarterback.
Through five games, McSorley has thrown for 1,049 yards and 10 touchdowns with just two interceptions. He’s rushed for an additional 410 yards and added six scores on the ground.
Saturday night’s loss to Ohio State marked the first time McSorley suffered a defeat at Beaver Stadium as Penn State’s starter. The folks in Happy Valley didn’t want that streak to end, but it was still an impressive accomplishment.
Penn State will now enter a bye week.
