The coaching carousel just keeps on going.
This time a coach from B1G was taken off the board. Penn State DC Brent Pry is now the head coach at Virginia Tech. The news was confirmed by Virginia Tech Tuesday morning via Twitter.
This is Pry’s first head coaching job. He has only ever been an assistant throughout his entire coaching career.

Penn State’s defense had a very productive year in the B1G. The Nittany Lions finished 2nd in the B1G in points allowed just behind Wisconsin. They held teams to just 16.8 points per game this season. They also allowed the 6th-least yards per game in the B1G as well with 344 yards allowed per game.
Former defensive coordinators like Dave Aranda at Baylor have had some success as head coaches, we’ll see if Pry can have that some kind of success at Virginia Tech. Only time will tell.
