Penn State’s decision to run the football on 4th-and-5 while trailing Ohio State with less than two minutes to go has been widely criticized for the past three days. But one BTN analyst doesn’t believe the Nittany Lions made the incorrect call.

Former head coach and current college football analyst Dave Wannstedt said that Penn State actually had a good play-call.

“That was the correct read for this play,” Wannstedt said, “Ohio State made the play.”

Wannstedt explains what Penn State quarterback Trace McSorley saw when he lined up and why the handoff to Miles Sanders could’ve worked had the Buckeyes not been so quick.

The video of Wannstedt’s explanation can be viewed below.

What do you think? Was it just a great play from Ohio State? Or should Penn State have called something different?
