WATCH: Chris Godwin sets high bar for WRs with impressive 40-yard-dash time
The draft stock for Penn State receiver Chris Godwin continues to rise.
At the NFL scouting combine on Saturday morning, Godwin started his day by setting the bar in the 40-yard-dash. His first attempt clocked in at 4.42, the fastest time among receivers.
Godwin’s time was faster than what many had expected:

Just turned on NFLN and, wow, Chris Godwin currently has the best WR 40-time at 4.42 seconds.

Though he didn’t improve on his time with his second attempt, he did clock in at 4.44, which is still pretty quick.
Godwin’s time initially placed him as the fastest-timedĀ receiver early on Saturday morning. However, two fellow receivers – Quincy Adeboyejo (Ole Miss) and K.D. Cannon (Baylor) – tied the 4.42 mark later in the test.
Speed wasn’t expected to major a major advantage for Godwin at the combine, but his impressive 40 time will surely turn some heads.
It looks like those workouts with Calvin Johnson are paying off for the formerĀ Penn State receiver.
