Football is a team game. When your teammates make a big play on the field, the guys on the sideline tend to celebrate.

Penn State offensive lineman CJ Thorpe took that to a new level on Saturday during the Nittany Lions 79-7 beatdown of Idaho in State College. A big hit from Brandon Smith brought the big-bodied lineman to his knees.

Roar Lions Roar captured the video of Smith laying the lumber on an Idaho receiver. Thorpe couldn’t believe what he had just witnessed, and had an awesome reaction to the hit.

In case you didn’t get a good enough look, here’s a close-up shot of Thorpe’s reaction, shared by Ben Jones.

Now that’s cheering on a teammate.

There were plenty of awesome moments in Penn State’s big win on Saturday. You don’t score 79 points without quite a few of those, after all. But Smith’s hit might take the cake from Saturday.
