Christian Hackenberg probably doesn’t think life was so rough at Penn State anymore.

In the Jets’ preseason game against the Lions on Saturday night, Hackenberg was trying to prove himself a worthy starter in the New York offense.  That didn’t go well.

Hackenberg finished completing just two passes for 14 yards and was sacked twice in the contest. One of those he’ll remember for a long, long time:

Taking big shots is nothing new to Hackenberg, who was sacked a lot during his time at Penn State in 2014 and 2015. Those two years, the Nittany Lions gave up 83 sacks.

In New York’s first preseason game, Hackenberg completed 18-of-25 passes for 127 yards.
