Penn State is gearing up for its Week 3 showdown with Pittsburgh, and it is bound to be a heated one!

The Nittany Lions and Panthers are in-state rivals that first met in 1893. However, they are two teams that do not always get to face one another on a consistent basis.

This year’s meeting will be the fourth straight season that the two teams get to face each other, but it remains to be seen when, and if, they will face each other in the future. Penn State and Pittsburgh did not play at all from 2001-15 before playing each year since 2016.

For James Franklin and the Nittany Lions, they have their sights set on a big year but must take down the Panthers to get to 3-0. If they do so, it will give Penn State three straight in the series and end this four-year stretch on a high note.

To get ready for Saturday’s kick-off Penn State Football dropped an intense hype video for the showdown in Happy Valley. Check it out:

Kickoff is set for 12 pm EST on ABC.
