WATCH: Penn State players had a unique punishment following lack of hustle during practice
There are a lot of different drills and exercises teams can do in order to prepare for the next game. Rolling on the ground like you’re escaping from a fire hasn’t been one of them in the past.
And yet, that appears to be a form of discipline that was given to the Nittany Lions after practice Wednesday. During his meeting with the press after practice, head coach James Franklin indicated the team went through some extra conditioning due to a lack of hustle towards the end of practice.
The linebackers were forced to do some up-downs. As for the running backs? Well, that’s a different story.
Watch the entire incident below:
A few too many players were walking tonight for James Franklin’s liking. Saw extra conditioning after practice which usually they don’t do. Lotta up downs for some LBs, RBs might’ve rolled their way to Bellefonte by now. pic.twitter.com/NSq1spxQ7p

Extra conditioning is never fun, but everyone needs a wakeup call at one time or another. Hopefully, the message was received. But it’s hard to deny that it sure looked silly in practice.
