WATCH: Penn State WR KJ Hamler catches wide-open touchdown against Idaho
The rout is on in Happy Valley.
With a little more than 10 minutes remaining in the first half, Penn State sophomore wide receiver KJ Hamler hauled in a 36-yard touchdown pass from new starting quarterback Sean Clifford. The score put the Nittany Lions ahead of Idaho, 27-0.
Hamler couldn’t have been more wide open on the play:

This was the first touchdown pass for Clifford, who earned the starting job under center this summer, this year. He threw two touchdowns as a reserve player last season.

Clifford began his first start 7-of-12 for 137 yards with a touchdown against Idaho. Hamler has only caught the one pass for the 36-yard score, but he leads the team in receiving halfway through the second quarter.
Running backs Journey Brown and Ricky Slade scored the other two Penn State touchdowns.
