WATCH: Pitt fans had a very NSFW chant prepared for when Penn State took the field
Try telling the students and fans at Pitt that the Penn State game isn’t a rivalry.
Depending on who you ask, the significance of the Penn State-Pitt rivalry varies. Some believe it’s one of the best in the sport while others believe the hatred between the two programs has cooled a bit.
But Pitt students and fans proved that there’s still plenty of hate between the two programs.
When Penn State took the field for pre-game warmups, they were greeted with a pretty direct chant. Midway through the video below, fans began chanting “(Expletive) Penn State,” and it was pretty audible.

After Penn State took the field, several players gathered in the end zone to then egg on the fans who had decided to heckle them in warmups.

There’s definitely plenty of tension in this one.
Penn State and Pitt have split the last two meetings. The Panthers took the 2016 matchup and the Nittany Lions won last year’s battle.
This should be a really fun and exciting in-state rivalry game.
