What makes a running back special?

Great vision, patience with waiting for plays to develop and blocks to be made, speed, agility, strength and more. There is a lot that goes into the position.

Pass protection is another aspect that gets overlooked. On this play on Thursday Night Football between the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles, however, former Penn State RB Saquon Barkley didn’t show off his pass protection skills.

He just showed off everything else he has in his talent pool.

Again, patience, vision, speed, strength, athleticism. It was all on display here. Sure, it wasn’t a TD.

But if there were ever a 9-yard play that was deserving of being a part of a Top 10 plays list, this would be it.
