It didn’t take long for Penn State’s high-powered offense to strike in the Fiesta Bowl.
On the first drive of the game, quarterback Trace McSorley connected with DaeSean Hamilton for a 48-yard touchdown to give the Nittany Lions an early 7-0 lead in Glendale. While the pass and catch was beautiful, Hamilton put a nice move on a Washington defender to make the scoring play even more impressive.
Not a bad start for the Lions. An even better throw by McSorley.

The touchdown pass was the 27th of the season for McSorley, and was the 28th straight game in which he’s thrown a touchdown pass. Hamilton, who entered the game as Penn State’s leading receiver, hauled in his eighth touchdown reception of the year.
The Fiesta Bowl was expected to be a high-scoring fair with some of the best offensive players in the sport taking the field. It didn’t take the Nittany Lions long to show off their firepower.
