What James Franklin said following Penn State's loss to Ohio State
The No. 20 Penn State Nittany Lions have started their 2021 College Football season strong with a 5-0 start. Since then, however, Penn State has lost three in a row with their most recent loss being a 33-24 road loss to No. 5 Ohio State. This was a game where they had the momentum several times, but self-inflicted errors occurred.
Penn State was able to put the game within three points at the end of the third quarter thanks to a one-yard touchdown run from Keyvone Lee. Their offense was efficient at converting on third downs and created some solid drives, but their three turnovers killed any momentum for their offense.
Franklin: “I thought Mike called a good game, especially on third down.”

This is not a great look for head coach James Franklin and his Penn State as they were considered serious playoff contenders a few weeks ago and now they won’t even be ranked. Franklin says that he knows the team can bounce back in a big way next week and beyond.
Franklin: “I thought we battled tonight. Defensively, I thought we did some really good things…Obviously in the second half we gave up some explosive plays…Offensively, turnovers make it difficult against a team like this on the road.”
