Before Penn State’s monster game against rival Ohio State tonight, head coach James Franklin went onto College Gameday and touched on a number of topics, including how this season is different than other ones.

Franklin said, “Just a lot of differences, you got opt-outs, you got COVID. We see it in all the conferences and in the NFL.”

He also talked about this past week for the Nittany Lions and said, “I think this week was important, obviously going into that first game and not having Parsons and Journey Brown, then losing Noah Cain on the opening drive. So seeing Devyn Ford stepping up and we’re going to need him to do that along with the two true freshmen who we’re relying on. Again, this is 2020 and there’s a lot of challenges that come with it, but our guys embrace it.”

He then ended with, “It’s been unusual, but you gotta embrace. We came and practiced in the stadium in this setting as much as we could.”

The game against Ohio State will be at 7:30 p.m. ET.
