Aidan O’Connell got to enter the game on Sunday as his Las Vegas Raiders were getting annihilated by the Chicago Bears.

The rookie QB entered the game in the 4th quarter while his team was getting beat 30-6. While it was a nightmare game for the Raiders, O’Connell threw his first NFL TD pass.

The rookie found veteran receiver Jakobi Meyers for a 9-yard score.

The TD was a cool moment for the former Boilermaker QB. Not only was it his first NFL TD pass, but it happened in his hometown of Chicago.

O’Connell earned second-team All-Big Ten honors twice at Purdue and threw for over 9,000 yards in college. O’Connell is 6th-all-time in career passing yards for the Boilermakers.  The QB decided to enter the 2023 NFL Draft and was selected in the 4th round by the Raiders.

O’Connell backed up Jimmy Garoppolo, but with Garoppolo out with injury, O’Connell and Brian Hoyer seem to be rotating in at QB. The rookie got the start earlier this month against the Chargers, and finished with 238 yards.
