On Monday, Jeff Brohm was introduced as Purdue’s next football coach.

We got to see the buttoned-up version of the man Boilermaker fans are hoping will lead them back to prominence.

Fifteen years ago, Brohm was a different kind of leader. The former quarterback spent the final season of his eight-year playing career in the XFL.

While playing for the Orlando Rage, Brohm took a punishing sack that resulted in him being taken off on a stretcher and to the hospital. Brohm came back in a neck brace and played in a game six days later.

Unfortunately, Brohm suffered a career-ending shoulder injury a week later. That kicked off his coaching career.
