Celebrating accordingly: Purdue OL chugs beer after fan throws one onto field
When you beat the No. 2 team in the country, there’s only one thing to do: chug a beer.
That’s exactly what Purdue offensive lineman Greg Long did when a fan tossed a beer onto the field. Des Moines Register photojournalist Byron Houlgrave captured the legendary moment, and it’s just as glorious as you’d expect.

Boilermakers fans have plenty of reasons to celebrate after their team went into Kinnick Stadium and upset No. 2 Iowa 24-7 to shake up the B1G and College Football Playoff pictures with 6 games left. It’s the 9th time an unranked Purdue team has beaten a No. 2-ranked team — more than twice as many wins as any other school.
So you can’t blame Purdue fans for celebrating, whether it be with beer or however they see fit. West Lafayette sure seems like a fun place to be Saturday night.
Celebrate accordingly — and safely — Boilermakers fans.
