Charlie Jones' 2nd TD of the first half gives Purdue halftime lead over FAU
Charlie Jones is working with a new quarterback in Week 4 as Aidan O’Connell was unable to start for Purdue. However, Jones is continuing his brilliant play so far in 2022.
Jones scored first in the game with an early touchdown for the Boilermakers. After that, FAU clawed back with 13 unanswered points to take a lead.
It initially looked like the Owls might take the lead into the break, but Austin Burton led Purdue back down the field. With time winding down in the second quarter, Burton found Jones for another touchdown and the halftime lead.

It comes as no surprise, but Jones has been the primary target of Burton and a sort of security blanket for the QB. Burton is 14-of-18 passing the ball at halftime for 127 yards, and Jones has 8 catches for 45 yards and the pair of scores.
We’ll see if Purdue can keep things rolling enough for a win in the second half.
