It was an ugly 20 minutes in West Lafayette, but Purdue is just one half away from extending its winning streak to nine games over in-state rival Indiana.

Purdue shot 11-of-23 from the floor and outrebounding Indiana 17-14 to take a 29-20 lead into the locker room through the first half. The Boilermakers were led in scoring by Sasha Stefanovic, Aaron Wheeler, Zach Edey and Jaden Ivey, all dropping in 6 points.

Mason Gillis scored 3 points and Trevion Williams had 2 to round out scoring for Purdue.

Indiana struggled from the floor, making just 8-of-27 attempts and was a dismal 1-of-13 from behind the 3-point line. Al Durham was the team’s leading scorer with 6 points, with Rob Phinisee adding 5 and Trayce Jackson-Davis getting 4.

Jerome Hunter and Race Thompson ended the half with 2 points and Jordan Geronimo had 1.

Purdue could lock up a Top 4 seed in the B1G Tournament with a win over Indiana. The Boilermakers are 17-8 on the season. Indiana is attempting to play its way back into March Madness contention, currently sitting 12-13 overall.
