Controversy again: Should this TD catch from Minnesota's Chris Autman-Bell count?
Minnesota caught a huge break in the first quarter vs. Purdue on Saturday.
The Golden Gophers took an early 7-0 lead on a 31-yard touchdown pass from Tanner Morgan to Chris Autman-Bell.
The only problem?
It looks like it shouldn’t have been a catch. Replays show Autman-Bell losing control of the ball as he rolled out of bounds and the ball hit the ground. Here’s a look:

However, the play was not reviewed and the touchdown stayed on the board.
It was a historic touchdown, too, for Morgan and the Golden Gophers. He becomes the fastest Minnesota QB in history to reach 50 career touchdown passes.
This is the second straight year that Minnesota has benefitted from a questionable officiating decision — or lack thereof — vs. Purdue.
Last season, Purdue was robbed of a go-ahead touchdown in the final minute of the game vs. the Golden Gophers after a phantom pass interference call. The Boilermakers then threw an interception, giving Minnesota the win.
Minnesota has won three straight games in this series.
