Michigan State’s Tom Izzo is one of the most legendary coaches in the illustrious history of B1G basketball. The Basketball Hall of Fame coach is entering his 28th season at the helm of the Spartans.

Izzo is famous for being a gruff figure on the sidelines, but Purdue head coach Matt Painter captured the lighter side of the legend during B1G Media Days on Oct. 8. Painter posted on Twitter a hilarious photobomb by Izzo:

Purdue swept the series 2-0 last year and has won four straight against Izzo’s Spartans. Purdue returns plenty of talent from last year’s squad that reached the NCAA Tournament, such as Trevion Williams,  Sasha Stefanovic, Jaden Ivey, and Zach Edey.

Meanwhile, Michigan State picked up a point guard transfer in Tyson Walker and a big-time freshman in 5-star shooting guard Max Christie. Michigan State fell in the First Four of the NCAA Tournament last season.

Purdue finished the season ranked No. 20 and begins this season at home vs. Bellarmine on Nov. 9 (9 p.m. EST). Purdue will travel to face Michigan State on Feb. 26.
