Purdue is trying to engineer a gigantic upset in Iowa City, and David Bell is having a monster performance for the Boilermakers.

Taking on the No. 2 Hawkeyes in Kinnick Stadium, Bell and Aidan O’Connell have worked well to start the afternoon. Bell gashed the defense with a 60-yard catch in the first half and had another 15-yard catch during the touchdown drive for the Boilermakers just before the half.

The star wide receiver is still clicking with his QB to begin the second half, hauling in a 47-yard catch after getting behind the defense on the opening drive. Purdue would go on to kick a field goal and take a 17-7 lead on the road:

So far, Bell has 6 catches for 148 yards against a tough Hawkeye defense. It will be interesting to see if Bell, O’Connell, and the offense can do enough to hold off the No. 2 team in the nation.
