Purdue quarterback David Blough earned one final award of the 2017 season following Week 10.

In last week’s game against Illinois, Blough suffered a severe ankle injury the fourth quarter. Unable to get off the turf on his own power, Blough had to be carted off the field and had to be taken out of Ross-Ade Stadium via ambulance. But before he left, he tried to get his teammates and the fans pumped up for the final minutes of the game.

Purdue was able to score a few plays later and eventually knocked off Illinois 29-10 in West Lafayette.

For his toughness after suffering a serious injury, Blough was named the Barstool Sports Football Guy of the Week. He accepted the award from his hospital bed after surgery to repair the dislocated ankle.

Due to the injury, Blough will miss the remainder of the 2017 season and will undergo a six-month recovery. He had been the primary quarterback for the Boilermakers for most of the season.

Blough had thrown for over 1,100 yards and nine touchdowns this season while completing 65 percent of his passes. Purdue is 4-5 on the year, needing two wins to get to bowl eligibility.
