Deion Burks, Purdue WR, carted off the field following scary Citrus Bowl injury
Deion Burks suffered an injury that no football fan likes to see in a game. The injury happened during the fourth quarter of Monday’s Citrus Bowl.
Burks apparently was hurt after LSU DB Sage Ryan fell on the Purdue WR after a long pass play. Burks was knocked unconscious and later carted off the field.
Burks has played in every game for Purdue this season with 149 yards receiving. Burks’ Boilermaker teammates joined in prayer after seeing his scary injury.

Thankfully, Burks woke up after getting stretchered off and was responding to questions from doctors, according to the ABC broadcast. Burks will be transported to the hospital after what happened.
ESPN sideline reporter Kris Budden stated that Burks had feeling and movement in all of his extremities, which is always good news.
Purdue WR Deion Burks is still down and they’ve brought out a backboard for him. #LSU‘s Sage Ryan fell on him unintentionally on that long pass play. Now the cart comes on to take Burks off.

Burks brought in 1 reception before leaving the game due to the injury.
This game is the last one for Purdue fans before Ryan Walters will officially get to take over as head coach. Drew Brees is helping out the Boilermaker coaching staff as an interim assistant coach. Brian Brohm is the team’s interim HC.
Hopefully Burks is alright.
