Drew Brees returning to Purdue for Wisconsin game
One of Purdue’s biggest legends is returning to West Lafayette.
Well, for a weekend, at least.
On Gerad Parker’s – formerly Darrell Hazell’s – weekly radio show, host Tim Newton mentioned that former quarterback and current New Orleans Saints star Drew Brees will be back on campus on Nov. 19 when the Boilermakers host Wisconsin.

Brees was Purdue’s quarterback from 1997-2000 and passes for 11,792 yards and 90 TDs in his career. He helped propel the Boilermakers to a B1g title and a Rose Bowl berth in 2000. In 2010, he led the Saints to a Super Bowl XLIV victory over the Indianapolis Colts.
There is some significance to Brees’ return against the Badgers. In 1998, Brees threw an NCAA-record 83 passes against Wisconsin, completing 55 of them for 494 yards and two TDs. Purdue lost the game 31-24.
The details for the Nov. 19 battle between the Boilers and the Badgers is still to be determined.
