Drew Brees ties Peyton Manning for NFL record with second TD of the first half
Drew Brees is on the cusp of history and nearly set a record in the first half of Monday Night Football.
The former Purdue Boilermaker and current QB for the New Orleans Saints entered Monday’s game two touchdowns shy of tying Peyton Manning for the all-time record for passing touchdowns in the NFL. Brees tied Manning with six minutes to go in the half and appeared to break the record late in the half.

With under 10 seconds to go in the half, Brees threw what appeared to be the record-breaking score. Teammates gathered around and celebrated with Brees, but a flag for offensive pass interference negated the touchdown.

Brees will get the chance to break the record in the second half. He has already completed 20-of-21 passes for 230 yards and two touchdowns against the Indianapolis Colts.
