Purdue is getting ready for its first season since the passing of Tyler Trent, but there is no question his legacy is still felt within the team.

Trent’s story made waves in 2018 after being featured on College GameDay. Despite battling cancer, Trent went out of his way to encourage others and cheer for all things Purdue up until the day he died.

It seems everyone that interacted with Trent left as a better person, and Elijah Sindelar and Rondale Moore are no different. During their appearance on the BTN Bus Tour, Moore described how he and Trent became friends following the upset of Ohio State:

“It just turned into a friendship,” Moore said, explaining how Trent would text him regularly following the big win. “For me to just get to meet him and talk to him every day, it just showed how much he cared about everyone else around him, no matter what he had going on.”

For Sindelar, he discussed Trent’s inspiring character and strong faith. He pointed out how genuine and caring Trent was and how it paved the way for an undying legacy:

“He was truly an inspiration,” said Sindelar. “He inspired so many people and his faith was incredible…I’m not even half the man that he was. He was just so good with treating everyone with love and being remembered as just a genuine young man. It was so sad to hear of him passing, but man, his legacy will live on forever. It won’t be for just a few years, it will be for the end of time.”
