The Purdue Boilermakers are full-steam ahead entering Week 4. Will they walk away from Ross-Ade Stadium with a non-conference win?

ESPN’s FPI predicted the outcome for this weekend’s matchup between Florida Atlantic and Purdue. No surprise, the Boilermakers received a whopping 87.5% chance to take down the Owls in West Lafayette on Saturday.

This isn’t to say the Owls are a terrible club. Sitting at 2-2, Willie Taggart’s roster has soundly beaten programs like Charlotte and FCS Southeastern Louisiana. Perhaps with another drive or two in Week 2 against Ohio, FAU would be 3-1 on the new season.

Purdue’s Aidan O’Connell continues to be one of the more prolific passers in college football to begin the year. His 1,000 passing yards currently rank 4th among all active FBS quarterbacks heading into Week 4. O’Connell has also completed 64.2% of his throws for 8 touchdowns against 1 interception.

The Boilermakers’ offense has been putting up quality numbers through the air despite losing wide receiver David Bell to the draft this past offseason. Currently, Charlie Jones leads Purdue in receptions (32), yards (474), and touchdowns (5). Tight end Payne Durham has been consistent in short-yardage situations, totaling 14 catches for 133 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Kickoff Saturday is set for 7:30 p.m. E.T. The Boilermakers are currently a 19.5-point, according to FanDuel.
