Though the Nebraska-Purdue game isn’t one of the “must-see” games of the weekend, it’s still projected to be a pretty competitive game.

Nebraska is coming off a very close loss to No. 19 Iowa by a score of 26-20 but Purdue is still well-liked by ESPN’s FPI to win this game. According to the FPI, Purdue has a 56.7% chance of beating the Cornhuskers Saturday afternoon.

This shouldn’t come as a surprise since Purdue has been the better team this season. Despite being 2-3, they’ve been competitive in all five of their games, with their largest loss only being by seven points (twice).

They also have had to play their backup QB in Jack Plummer the last two games since starter Aidan O’Connell is out for the year with a foot injury.

Nebraska, on the other hand, is 1-4 and two of their four losses have been by 18 or more points. They just haven’t been consistent at all this season which is another likely reason as to why the FPI doesn’t have them favored in this game.

Kickoff is at Noon ET Saturday afternoon and the game will be televised by the Big Ten Network.
