Purdue head coach Jeff Brohm met with the media on Monday, coming off the Boilermakers’ 40-29 upset win over No. 3 Michigan State.

Led by quarterback Aidan O’Connell—who was named the Big Ten’s Co-Offensive Player of the Week for the performance—Purdue built a 21-7 first-half lead and a 37-21 fourth-quarter lead to beat the Spartans at home. The Boilermakers never trailed in the game.

For the fifth-year head coach, it was his third win as an unranked side over an AP Top 5 opponent and Purdue’s second in four weeks. The Boilermakers knocked off No. 2 Iowa 24-7 in Iowa City last month.

It was also the 17th time in program history Purdue has beaten a top-5 opponent as an unranked team, an FBS record.

Brohm touched on Purdue’s “Spoilermakers” tendency, provided an injury update, and offered some more general comments on his side. He also previewed Purdue’s game against No. 5 Ohio State on the road this upcoming Saturday. The two kick off against each other at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
