Purdue has picked up another former SEC defensive player via the transfer portal.
Former Kentucky defensive back Jamari Brown announced on Thursday that he will be transferring to Purdue. He’s the fourth player from the SEC to commit to Jeff Brohm’s Boilermakers squad for the 2021 season. He joins defensive lineman Joseph Anderson (South Carolina), Octavius Brothers (Auburn) and C.J. McWilliams (Florida).
Brown announced his decision with a post on Twitter. As a redshirt sophomore, he will have three years of eligibility remaining.

Brown joined Kentucky as a member of the 2018 recruiting class. He saw action in just one his first year and utilized the season as a redshirt year. The defensive back appeared in 15 games over the last two seasons, but only played in four last year because of injury.
In three seasons, Brown has played in 16 games and is credited with 26 tackles, 7 pass break-ups, a tackle for loss and a fumble recovery.
Purdue is coming off a 2-4 campaign in 2020. The Boilers will be entering their fifth season under Brohm.
