Former Penn State defensive lineman Cole Brevard has decided to continue his college football career in the B1G. And he’ll play his former team to open the 2022 campaign.

Monday, Brevard announced on Twitter his plan to transfer to Purdue. He will provide the Boilermakers with some much-needed depth along the defensive front after transferring out of Penn State.

“I’m coming home!” Brevard wrote on Twitter. “I’m beyond blessed and incredibly proud to join (Purdue football). #BoilerUp.”

Brevard spent two seasons with the Nittany Lions before hitting the transfer portal following the 2021 campaign. He did not see any game time during his first year in 2020 and played in 1 game last fall, making his collegiate debut against Rutgers.

As a high school prospect, Brevard was a 4-star defensive lineman who ranked just outside the Top 200. He was also a Top 20 player at his position in the 2020 class.

Brevard is a Carmel, Ind. native, so this will be a homecoming for the defensive tackle. He will see Penn State in Week 1 when the Nittany Lions travel to West Lafayette to play the Boilermakers.
