A former Purdue defensive back will be continuing his college football career at North Texas.

Earlier this week, Jordan Rucker announced on Twitter that he will be transferring to North Texas to continue playing college football. A native of Denton, Texas, this will be a return home for the ex-Boilermaker.

“It’s been a long process but I am more than happy to say I will be transferring back home balling for North Texas!!” Rucker wrote on Twitter. “IM COMING HOME.”

Rucker was a member of Purdue’s 2018 recruiting class and was listed as a three-star prospect. He redshirted his first season in West Lafayette before getting on the field during the 2019 season. Rucker appeared in five games for the Boilers last fall, though he did not record any statistics.

Due to NCAA transfer rules, Rucker will be forced to sit out the 2020 season unless he receives a waiver from the association. He will then have two years of eligibility remaining beginning in 2021.
