A former linebacker for Purdue is on the move, committing to a Sun Belt transfer destination on Wednesday.
The player is Robert McWilliams III, a former 3-star prospect out of Miami, Florida via the 2017 recruiting class. The veteran defender announced Wednesday morning that he is heading to Arkansas State to play for head coach Butch Jones.

McWilliams had 1 TFL in 2018 and 4 total tackles in 2020. He did not register a tackle in 2021.
Fortunately for Purdue, Jeff Brohm and his staff has been active in replenishing the roster via the portal. The Boilermakers have so far added 6 players out of the portal with 3 of those additions coming on the defensive side of the ball.
Hopefully the Boilermakers will be able to replicate – or improve – on the 22.4 points allowed per game in 2021 during their 9-win campaign.
