A former FCS quarterback has decided to transfer to Purdue and play college football a little closer to home.

Former James Madison quarterback Kyle Adams, a West Lafayette native, announced on Saturday that he will be transferring to Purdue to continue his career. The news comes after spending two seasons with the Dukes.

In Adams’ two seasons with the program, he appeared in two games. Because of the COVID-19 waiver and a redshirt year, he’ll still have four years of eligibility remaining with the Boilermakers.

Adams threw just one pass in two seasons and had one carry, as well. He picked up 19 yards on the ground and his lone toss was an incompletion with James Madison.

Per 247Sports, Adams was a 2-star quarterback out of high school and was ranked as the No. 48 prospect out of Indiana. He received offers from nine schools, all of which were at the FCS level.

Adams will be transferring to a Purdue program that is coming off a 9-win year, it’s best season of the Jeff Brohm era.
