A former Purdue offensive lineman has landed a job with the Appalachian State football program.

Thursday, Appalachian State announced the hiring of Robert Kugler, a former Purdue center. He joins the Mountaineers as an offensive quality control analyst. He spent last season with the Washington Huskies as a graduate assistant.

Prior to his position at Washington, Kugler spent one season at UTEP as a graduate assistant.

Kugler played at Purdue from 2012-15 and also spent time with the Buffalo Bills in 2016. He started in 43 consecutive games while with the Boilermakers.

Appalachian State is welcoming in a new coaching staff following last season. Shawn Clark takes over for Eli Drinkwitz, who took over at Missouri following the 2019 season.
