David Blough was a very effective quarterback at Purdue from 2015-18. Following his time as a Boilermaker, he is now a member of the Detroit Lions and has had his share of impressive moments during his rookie campaign.

The Lions may not be going to the playoffs, led by Blough, but again, moments of potential for an effective future have been shown. Typically, this has been thanks to Blough’s arm. After all, he is a quarterback.

But in Week 17 — the final week of Blough’s rookie season — the former Boilermaker played the Green Bay Packers and caught his first NFL touchdown of his career. Take a look at the trick play that made it all happen:

Again, Blough is known for his arm, not his hands. This caught the Packers’ defense completely by surprise, and, understandably so.

Maybe in 2020, teams will respect Blough’s hands more.
