Former Purdue QB Robert Marve is being accused of sexual assault and battery, according to a Tampa Bay Times report citing court and police records.

Marve’s ex-girlfriend Channing Tomes recently sought a restraining order and told authorities that he struck her in the face, chest and body and also stomped on her throat. Tomes has known Marve since 2016 and the two began dating in March of 2018.

Marve, a product of Plant High School in Tampa, Fla., denied the accusations through his attorney and has not been criminally charged. His attorney described the two’s brief relationship as “volatile.”

“(Marve) is psychotically obsessed and told me he would kill me, has informed that even if I go away, he will find me,’’ Tomes said in her petition for a restraining order, according to the Times report.

Tomes claims Marve has been violent with her on multiple occasions and described specific incidents in May and July of this year. Tomes alleges that her head dented his truck during the May incident when he struck her face outside his vehicle. He allegedly continued to beat her as he drove and sexually assaulted her inside his home.

Full details of the May incident as well as another violent incident during a July trip to Key West, Fla. can be found in the article by Bre Bradham and Tim Fanning.

Marve was 2006 Mr. Florida Football and a Parade All-American before signing with the Miami Hurricanes. He played at UM two seasons (2007-2008) before transferring to Purdue in May 2009. He completed his college football career with the Boilermakers in 2012.
