Jared Sparks is heading to the Sun Belt, and he will also get to team up and work with ex-Michigan head coach Rich Rodriguez in the process.

On Thursday evening, Sparks posted to his personal Twitter account with a graphic featuring him photoshopped into a Lousiana-Monroe jersey. Along with the graphic was the caption “new beginnings.”

The destination of ULM is interesting for a couple of reasons. On one hand, it will be a bit of a homecoming for Sparks after he was a member of the 2016 recruiting class out of Geismar, Louisiana.

Besides the homecoming, Sparks will get to play for an intriguing coaching staff that the Warhawks are putting together. Terry Bowden has been named the new head coach at ULM, his first head coaching stop since Akron in 2018.

ULM also added former Michigan and Arizona head coach Rich Rodriguez to be the offensive coordinator and associate head coach on Bowden’s staff. It will definitely be an interesting year to watch ULM and how Sparks does at his new destination.

Sparks finishes his Purdue career with 59 catches for 642 yards and a touchdown.
