Purdue in 2018 owns a 3-3 record.

But the Boilermakers haven’t always been a mediocre football team. Back in 2000, Purdue was pretty dang good.

For one, Drew Brees was a senior QB at that time for the Boilermakers. He turned out to be pretty good in the pros, too. But Brees also had some help on the outside on the Big Ten title-winning team.

Wide receiver Seth Morales certainly played his part — especially against Ohio State. Brees found Morales for a 64-yard TD that year to defeat the Buckeyes 31-27. Purdue, thanks to its success that season, went on to play in the Rose Bowl.

On Wednesday, ahead of the Purdue-Ohio State game on Saturday, Morales talked about not just the two teams, but the history that he made with his catch to defeat the Buckeyes.

Note: Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. between the Boilermakers and Buckeyes with ABC televising the matchup on Saturday.
