George Karlaftis talks NFL goals following Purdue's pro day
After leading Purdue’s defense to new heights in 2021, George Karlaftis is focused on the NFL Draft and what lies ahead. The former Boilermaker defensive end participated in the team’s pro day on Tuesday, giving himself one last chance to impress the scouts.
Karlaftis doesn’t need a lot of help in that department. Throughout the course of the 2021 season, Karlaftis emerged as one of the top edge-rusher prospects in all of college football, not just the B1G. He ended the year with 41 stops, 11.5 tackles for loss, 5 sacks, 8 quarterback hurries, 3 forced fumbles and a scoop-and-score.
Purdue ended the year with a 9-4 record, which included upset wins over No. 2 Iowa and No. 3 Michigan State.
Following his workout in Purdue’s pro day on Thursday, Karlaftis spoke with NFL Network’s Stacey Dales regarding his plans in the NFL, his unique water polo workout and players he models his game after. Below is the full clip:

Karlaftis is expected to be a first-round selection in this year’s NFL Draft. He’s currently slotted in the No. 18 spot in a ranking of the Top 50 from NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah.
We’ll see where the former Purdue standout lands when the 2022 NFL Draft rolls around next month.
