Purdue’s offense is operating much better than it did a week ago against Penn State. Getting Maryland at home seems to be a solid recipe to getting back into a rhythm.

With a 13-7 lead in the second quarter, Plummer dropped back and launched a deep pass to a wide open Milton Wright, another talented Purdue freshman. After hauling in the pass, Wright was able to shed a Terrapins defender on his way to the end zone.

The touchdown gave the Boilermakers a 20-7 lead in the second quarter.

That pass was Plummer’s second touchdown of the day. It was also the first catch of the day for Wright.

Coming into the game, Wright had just five receptions for 42 yards. It was the first touchdown catch of his college career.
