Jaden Ivey made his return to the state of Indiana Saturday, this time as a member of the Detroit Pistons.

After a successful 2-season career at Purdue, Ivey was drafted with the 5th-overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft by the Detroit Pistons.

With the NBA season now underway, Ivey had the chance to return to his college state when his Pistons took on the Indiana Pacers. Ivey’s college coach Matt Painter took the opportunity to visit his former player.

Ivey had a great game in front of his former coach, collecting 17 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 assists. After the game, Ivey found his former coach and gave him his game jersey.

The gesture was meaningful to the coach, with Painter’s wife taking to Twitter to say as much.

The Pistons will have a couple of days off before traveling to Washington to take on the Wizards.
